Volunteering

The CAPHIL is staffed with graduate analysts from multiple subfields of Anthropology and a team of select undergraduate volunteers. We accept applications near the beginning of each term — watch our website for announcements.

The application window for Summer 2026 is now OPEN! We will accept statements of reference until 5 pm on May 8th, so act quickly.

Applicants with the following qualities are sought:

  • A passing grade in Human Osteology of B or better
  • A statement of suitability as a volunteer is required, drawn from a UF faculty member, preferably in the Anthropology department
  • Ability to attend a group or individual interview
  • Ability to pass a background check is required

During the application window, please email us at poundlab@anthro.ufl.edu to request an application. Volunteer opportunities are limited by scheduling, but we try to accommodate as many applicants as we can.
